Getting Started

This section guides you through the initial setup process for your HyperVisu server, from physical installation to accessing the system for the first time.

Server Installation #

Power and Network Connection #

To begin using the HyperVisu server for the first time:

  • Power Connection
    • Connect the server to a 24V DC power supply
  • Network Connection
    • Connect the ethernet port on the HyperVisu server to your building’s local network using a standard network cable
  • IP Configuration
    • By default, the server is configured with a static IP address: 192.168.1.60
    • Make sure your local network is configured to allow this IP address, or you can change it later from the administration page
    • Note: If your network uses a different subnet than 192.168.1.x, you may need to temporarily configure a computer to access this subnet

Initial Setup #

  • Startup Sequence
    • After connecting power and network, wait several minutes (approximately 2-3 minutes) for the server to fully boot up
  • LED Indicators
    • The network LED should be ON when the server is fully started and the network connection is established.
    • The KNX LED indicates if a connection is established to the KNX IP Interface.

First-Time Access #

  • Network Access
    • From a computer on the same network, open a web browser
    • Enter the HyperVisu server’s IP address in the address bar: http://192.168.1.60
    • If you cannot access the server, verify that your device is on the same network subnet
  • Troubleshooting Connection Issues
    • If you cannot connect to the server, check that:
      • The server has completed its boot sequence(allow at least 3 minutes after powering on)
      • Your device is on the same network as the server
      • There are no firewall restrictions blocking access
      • The network cable is properly connected and the network switch ports are active

Landing Page #

Upon accessing the server’s IP address in your browser, you’ll arrive at the HyperVisu landing page:

  • Two main buttons are displayed:
    • Administration: Takes you to the server administration interface
    • HyperVisu: Opens the web visualization interface directly

Administration vs. Application Access #

HyperVisu provides two distinct interfaces, each serving different purposes:

Administration Interface #

  • Purpose and Functionality
    • Used for server configuration, user management, and system maintenance
    • Access to configuration files, network settings, and database management
    • Setup and management of KNX connections
    • Advanced features like Node-RED access and InfluxDB settings
  • Access Credentials
    • Default login credentials:
      • Username: admin
      • Password: admin1
    • For security reasons, change these default credentials during your first login
    • Once you establish a connection between ElauPro and the HyperVisu server, you can update the user list with your individual account
  • Intended Users
    • System integrators and administrators
    • Technical personnel responsible for system configuration
    • Not intended for end-users of the building automation system

Application Interface #

  • Purpose and Functionality
    • Provides the actual user interface for controlling and monitoring the building
    • Access to rooms, categories, and widgets for controlling various devices
    • View and control lighting, shutters, temperature, and other building functions
    • Configure and execute scenarios for automated control
  • Access Methods
    • Web application: Access directly from any browser by clicking the “HyperVisu” button on the landing page
    • Native applications: Available for download on Android and iOS devices
    • Remote access: Can be configured for secure access from outside the local network
  • Login Credentials
    • User accounts must be created in ElauPro
    • Each user can have specific permissions and access rights
