1 Check the system configuration
Select the master and required extension modules. Check the eight-extension limit, 72-output system limit and maximum of 40 switching channels rated 10 A. Large extensions use more than one ETS extension position. See System overview and limits and ETS configuration.
See System overview and limits
2 Mount and connect with power off
Follow Installation and manual operation and the wiring diagram for each module. Mount extensions to the right of the master on the same DIN-rail row and join their side connectors. Connect the KNX bus and external 30 VDC supply. Observe all electrical precautions before energising.
See Installation and manual operation
3 Address the physical extensions
After auxiliary power-up, hold A on the master for more than one second. Press A on each extension from left to right; its LEDs blink to confirm registration. Briefly press A on the master to finish. See Addressing.
See Installation and manual operation
4 Configure the master in ETS
Select the installed extensions in physical order, then any virtual logic modules. Set channel use, operating functions, startup behaviour and safety reactions. The full configuration is downloaded to the master; extensions require no separate ETS programming.
See ETS configuration and general settings
5 Assign addresses and download
Assign the physical address and group addresses in ETS. Use P for KNX programming mode. Match each group address to the object datatype in the relevant function reference and download the application.
See ETS configuration and general settings
6 Check operation
Test each configured channel and its status feedback. For shutters and blinds, measure travel and slat times and enter them in ETS. Before configuration, never activate both motor direction channels together. See Shutter and blind functions and Logic functions and validation.
