Input Configuration

The Input Configuration section in ElauPro allows you to document and manage the relationships between input devices (such as push buttons and switches) and the output devices they control. This documentation helps clarify the installation functionality for client approval and serves as a reference guide for programming, maintenance and troubleshooting.

Input Devices Setup #

Adding Input Devices #

Before configuring input connections, you must first add input devices to your project:

  • Navigate to the Devices section in the left sidebar menu
  • Select the room where you want to add an input device
  • Click the Add Device button
  • Select an appropriate input device type (e.g., push button, switch panel)
    • If you need a specific input device type that isn’t available, you can create a custom type by clicking the Type button on the Device List page
  • Complete the device information, including name and tag
  • Save the new input device

Input devices will be displayed in the room’s device list along with output devices, but they will be specifically available for configuration in the Inputs section.

Configuring Input Channels #

Once you’ve added input devices to your project, you need to configure their channels:

  • For each input device, determine how many input channels it has (e.g., a double push button would have two channels)
  • Access the device type properties by clicking on the device name in the device list
  • Specify the number of input channels
  • For each channel, you can set:
    • Channel type (typically “Button”)
    • Function (Switch On/Off, Dimming, etc.)

The configured input devices and their channels will now be available in the Inputs section for linking to output devices.

Linking Inputs to Outputs #

The Inputs section provides an intuitive interface for linking input channels to the output devices they will control.

Using Drag and Drop Assignment #

To link an input channel to an output device:

  • Navigate to the Inputs section in the left sidebar menu
  • The interface displays:
    • On the left: Your input devices organized by room, with their available channels
    • On the right: Output devices available for linking, organized by room
  • To create a link:
    • Click on an output device from the right panel (e.g., “LED Light 1” in Kitchen)
    • Drag it to the desired input channel on the left panel
  • Once linked, the output device will show an indicator that it is assigned to an input
  • You can assign multiple output devices to a single input channel if needed

This drag-and-drop interface makes it easy to visualize and configure the relationships between input devices and the outputs they control.

Configuring Short and Long Press Actions #

ElauPro allows you to configure different actions for short and long presses on input devices:

  • After linking an output device to an input channel, you can define the action type:
    • Click on the dropdown menu in the “ACTION” column to select “Short” or “Long”
    • For short press: usually “Switch On/Off” function
    • For long press: typically used for dimming, more complex operations, or secondary functions
  • In the “FUNCTION” column, select the specific function to execute:
    • Switch On/Off
    • Dimming Up/Down
    • Move Up/Down (for blinds/shutters)
    • Scene activation
    • And other functions depending on the device type
  • You can add multiple actions to the same input channel by clicking the “+” button in the ACTION column
  • Each action can be configured independently with different functions and linked to different output devices

This flexibility allows for more sophisticated control systems where a single input can serve multiple purposes based on how it’s used.

Removing Channel Links

To remove or modify existing channel links:

  • In the Inputs section, locate the input channel with the link you want to remove
  • Each linked output device is displayed with its tag and description
  • To remove a link, click the trash icon in the row of the specific link
  • The link will be removed, and the output device will return to the list of available devices on the right panel
  • To modify a link, simply remove it and create a new one with the desired configuration
