Quick commissioning

Commission a logic extension, select its functions and validate inputs and outputs in ETS.

1 Prepare the host device

Commission the compatible host device using its own manual. Open its application parameters in ETS.

2 Add a logic extension

In the extensions section, select Logic Module 8-fold. A new tab provides eight logic channels. See Extension and channel configuration.

3 Choose the channel function

Set Channel use to Logic gates, Sequence, Trigger or Math. Leave unused channels as Not used.

4 Set parameters and datatypes

Configure inputs, output, conditions, send behaviour and delays using the relevant function section. For sequences, configure each required step. For calendar triggers, configure the host time settings and time source.

Link the required input, output and Block objects. Match the group-address datatypes to the selected function configuration and download the host application in ETS.

6 Validate the function

Use ETS Group Monitor to send representative inputs and check the output value, send condition and delay. Test the Block object and, where used, sequence timing or calendar conditions. See Validation and troubleshooting.
