Connect your Interlogix UltraSync alarm system to KNX

The Elausys NXG-KNX makes supported alarm-system information available as KNX group objects. View alarm states alongside other building information and use them in configured automation.

The gateway communicates locally with the alarm panel. An internet connection or cloud service is not required for monitoring or commands.

Monitor zones and alarm-system states

Monitor up to 96 zones and four areas, with nine status objects per area. Available states include armed, partially armed, disarmed, entry and exit delays, and alarm indications. Panel AC-failure and battery-failure statuses are also available.

Available information depends on the panel configuration and the supported interface.

Use alarm information in building automation

Display alarm information in HyperVisu or another KNX visualisation. For example, use a confirmed armed state to recall an away scene for lighting and heating. Scene responses are configured in the receiving KNX devices.

Send arm, partial-arm, and disarm commands for up to four areas using the alarm user code configured in ETS. Monitoring and commands use the local network connection to the panel.

The alarm panel continues to manage its own security functions. The gateway adds integration with the building automation system.

Compatibility and installation

Supported systems: Interlogix UltraSync panels: NetworXConnect, xGen, and ZeroWire.

Connect the gateway and panel to the local network and configure the panel user, UltraSync settings, and status broadcasts as described in the installation guide.

Installation requires a KNX bus connection and the supported alarm-panel interface, plus an external 12–30 VDC power supply. Configure KNX parameters and group addresses in ETS5 or ETS6.

For larger installations, up to 192 zones using 2 gateways with the appropriate zone offsets can be configured where supported by the panel.

Check the documentation for the required panel settings, supported functions, and installation details.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Which Interlogix UltraSync alarm systems are compatible?

Interlogix UltraSync panels: NetworXConnect, xGen, and ZeroWire. Check the documentation for the exact panel and interface configuration.

Can I arm or disarm the system from KNX?

Send arm, partial-arm, and disarm commands for up to four areas using the alarm user code configured in ETS. Monitoring and commands use the local network connection to the panel.

Does it need the UltraSync cloud?

No. The gateway communicates with the supported panel over the local network for both status monitoring and commands. The local network connection must remain available.

Does it need an internet connection?

No. The gateway communicates locally through Ethernet, RJ45. Monitoring and supported commands do not require a cloud service.

Can I monitor more than 96 zones?

Up to 192 zones using 2 gateways with the appropriate zone offsets. Configure the offsets and panel interface according to the documentation.

What do I need to install it?

Compatible panel with Ethernet connectivity. You also need a KNX installation, an external 12–30 VDC supply, and ETS5 or ETS6 for KNX configuration.
