Overview

The MSA-810 is the master device of the Elausys Universal KNX Actuator System, providing 8 independent switching channels rated at 10A each for controlling lighting, outlets, and electrical loads up to 230VAC. As the core foundation of a fully modular actuator platform, the MSA-810 can be expanded with up to 8 extension modules to create systems with up to 72 total channels, all controlled through a single KNX physical address.

This versatile actuator eliminates the need for multiple separate KNX devices by combining switching, shutter/blind control, heating valve management, and advanced logic functions in one expandable system. The ElauPro cloud platform enables automatic ETS application generation, significantly reducing commissioning time.

Technical Capabilities

Each of the 8 relay outputs can be independently configured as a standard switching actuator or paired for shutter/blind control. Output contacts are rated for 10A resistive loads at 230VAC,

The MSA-810 supports advanced switching functions including adjustable switch-on/off delays, minimum ON/OFF duration settings, staircase lighting with configurable duration and pre-warning, and independent scene storage per output. A blocking function enables bus-controlled output locking to prevent unwanted commands during maintenance or specific operating conditions.

For shutter and blind applications, channel pairs can be configured with independent travel times for upper and lower positions, dedicated slat movement timing, and absolute percentage-based positioning. Three configurable alarm priority levels support rain, wind, and frost detection with automatic safety responses.

The built-in logic module supports up to 64 functions (8 per virtual logic module) including AND/OR/XOR gates with 8 inputs, 4-step sequences, trigger functions with weekly calendar, and math operations. Hour counters with maintenance warnings enable proactive equipment management.

Installation & Configuration

The MSA-810 mounts on standard 35mm DIN rail occupying 4 space units (4SU/72mm). External 24-30VDC power supply is required (auxiliary consumption less than 0.5A). The KNX bus connects via a pluggable micro terminal supporting 0.6-0.8mm solid conductor wire. Load connections use screw terminals accepting up to 2.5mm wire with 0.5Nm torque.

Four front-panel pushbuttons enable manual operation of outputs without KNX bus voltage, essential for installation testing and emergency control. Extension modules connect via the proprietary extension bus and are automatically detected through a simple one-button addressing sequence.

Configuration is performed in ETS5 or ETS6 with comprehensive parameter options. The ElauPro cloud platform generates complete ETS applications automatically based on the configured extension mix, eliminating manual communication object setup and reducing configuration time by up to 60%.
