KNX Power Supply 640mA with 30 V Auxiliary Output
The PS-640 supplies a KNX line with up to 640 mA at 29 VDC through an integrated choke. A separate 30 VDC auxiliary output can power compatible equipment such as the MSA-810 master actuator. Both outputs share a maximum total current of 1.2 A.

KNX bus power with an auxiliary DC output
The PS-640 combines a 640 mA KNX bus power supply and a 30 VDC auxiliary output in a 6 SU DIN-rail housing. It provides bus power through an integrated choke and auxiliary power for compatible devices in the same cabinet.
Supply the KNX line and compatible equipment
The KNX output supplies 29 VDC at up to 640 mA. Size the line from the actual bus-current requirements of the connected devices rather than a fixed device count.
The auxiliary output provides 30 VDC before the choke. It can supply the MSA-810 master actuator or other equipment rated for this voltage, within the combined output limit. It is not a second choked KNX bus output.
Size the two outputs together
The total current drawn from the KNX and auxiliary outputs must not exceed 1.2 A, and the KNX output remains limited to 640 mA.
Include the requirements of the connected actuator system when sizing the auxiliary load. Power for the master’s control electronics does not replace separate load supplies required by extensions such as LED, digital-output, or DALI modules.
Status indication and installation
Front LEDs indicate voltage status, current limiting, short circuit, and reset. The Set/Reset button provides a bus-reset function, and the supply includes a replaceable 1 A fuse.
The PS-640 accepts 230 VAC at 50/60 Hz and mounts on a 35 mm DIN rail. Its IP20 housing measures 106 × 110 × 60 mm, with an operating range of −5 to +45 °C. Follow the product documentation for wiring and fuse replacement.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can it power both the KNX bus and an MSA-810?
Yes. Use the choked KNX output for the bus and the 30 VDC auxiliary output for the MSA-810. The bus must remain within 640 mA and the combined output current within 1.2 A.
How many KNX devices can it supply?
Add the specified bus-current requirements of the devices on the line. Their total must fit within 640 mA, while also respecting the KNX installation’s topology requirements. Device count alone is not sufficient for sizing.
Is a separate KNX choke required?
No. The KNX bus output includes a choke. The auxiliary output is before the choke and must not be treated as a second KNX bus supply.
Does the auxiliary output power every actuator load?
No. It can power compatible control equipment, but some extensions require separate supplies for their loads or bus interface. Check each module’s voltage and power requirements.
What is the difference from PSA-15W and PSA-30W?
PS-640 is a KNX bus supply with an integrated choke and an auxiliary output. PSA-15W and PSA-30W are auxiliary DC supplies and cannot directly power a KNX bus.
