The Paradox side of the EVO-KNX

The PRT3 is Paradox's serial interface module for EVO and DGP panels. The Elausys EVO-KNX connects to it over RS232 (DB9 cable supplied with the gateway) and receives zone, partition and PGM events in ASCII, and writes its 16 virtual inputs through it. Without a PRT3 (or BUS2SER) there is no serial port on the panel — order it with the gateway if the panel does not have one yet.

What it does

  • RS232 ASCII port at 9600 baud, read by the EVO-KNX.
  • 16 virtual inputs: written from KNX through the gateway, act like zones inside the panel.
  • 30 virtual PGMs: panel events made available to the gateway.
  • 2048-event buffer; partition-aware.
