The INV-KNX gateway connects SolarEdge solar inverters to a KNX installation. It exchanges inverter data over the local network using Modbus TCP and publishes measurements as native KNX communication objects.
Use the data for energy monitoring, trends and project-specific automation, including actions based on solar production, battery operation and grid exchange where these values are available.
Supported installations
Requires a SunSpec-compatible SolarEdge inverter. SetApp models are supported; LCD models require firmware 3.xxxx or later.
Main capabilities
- Monitoring of energy, power, current, voltage, frequency, temperature and available battery or meter values.
- Configurable refresh rate, Ethernet connection and galvanic isolation from the KNX bus.
- DIN-rail mounting and a 12-30 VDC auxiliary power supply.
- Local logic gates, sequences, triggers, mathematical operations and weekly calendar events.
Configuration and requirements
Use the gateway webpage to configure network communication and ETS to assign the physical address, application parameters and group addresses. This manual and its ETS application apply to firmware V3.2.3.1 and above.
Check inverter compatibility and connected equipment in Section 3. Available measurements depend on the model and equipment; use the availability information in Section 8 before designing the KNX application.
Before commissioning
Prepare the inverter communication settings, a suitable fixed gateway IP address, the ETS project and access to the inverter configuration. Continue with the quick commissioning procedure in Chapter 2.
