Overview

The DAE-225 is a 2-channel phase dimming extension module for the Elausys Universal KNX Actuator System. Designed for professional lighting control applications, this extension provides smooth dimming of 230VAC loads including incandescent lamps, halogen lamps, wound transformers, and dimmable LED lamps. Each channel supports up to 250W with leading or trailing edge selection, and both channels can operate in parallel for loads up to 500W.

Technical Capabilities

The DAE-225 provides 2 independent dimming channels (A and B) for 230VAC lighting loads. Each channel can be configured with the optimal dimming mode (leading or trailing edge) based on the connected load type, ensuring compatibility with a wide range of lamp technologies.

Load Ratings per Channel:

• Halogen lamps: up to 250W
• Universal lamps and wound transformers: up to 200W
• Resistive loads: up to 0.5A
• Dimmable LED lamps: optimized from 2W minimum

Parallel Operation Mode: Both channels can be combined to drive a single high-power load, increasing the maximum capacity to 500W for standard lamps.

Installation and Configuration

The DAE-225 mounts on the right side of the MSA-810 master actuator using the provided side connector, sharing the same 35mm DIN rail. The module occupies 4 space units (4SU) and draws power internally from the master actuator, requiring no separate power supply connection.

Each channel features dual screw terminals (2.5mm2, 0.5Nm torque) for convenient connection of multiple wires. The phase and neutral must be connected for each channel, with loads wired between the output terminal and neutral.

Configuration is performed through ETS5 or ETS6 using the MSA-810 application. Select the extension type as Dimming Actuator 2-fold in ETS. Full functionality requires ETS5 or higher; ETS4 provides limited features. The free ETS Demo version is fully supported for basic commissioning.

The DAE-225 integrates seamlessly with the complete Elausys Universal Actuator System ecosystem. Up to 8 extension modules can be connected to a single MSA-810 master, enabling configurations up to 72 channels through a single KNX interface.

The extension works alongside switching extensions (SAE-810, SAE-816, SAE-2410), heating modules (HAE-805), DALI interface (DBE-64), analog outputs (AAE-410), and LED drivers (LAE-802). This enables comprehensive building automation combining lighting, shutter, HVAC, and dimming control through one unified KNX device.

Integration with HyperVisu visualization servers provides real-time dimming status feedback and control through mobile apps and touch panels. The ElauPro cloud platform enables automated ETS application generation, reducing configuration time significantly.
