8-channel KNX heating valve actuator extension for the Universal Actuator System controlling electrothermic valves in HVAC applications. Supports ON/OFF switching PWM modulation and PI temperature control for underfloor heating radiators and fan coil units. Requires MSA-810 master actuator.
The HAE-805 is an 8-channel heating actuator extension module for the Elausys Universal KNX Actuator System. Designed specifically for HVAC valve control, this extension drives electrothermic thermal actuators (valve drives) operating at 24VAC or 230VAC. Each channel supports multiple control modes including ON/OFF switching, PWM modulation, and integrated PI temperature control, making it suitable for underfloor heating, radiator circuits, and fan coil unit applications.
The HAE-805 provides 8 independent valve control channels (A through H) for driving thermal actuators at 24-230VAC. Each channel delivers up to 0.5A, supporting up to 4 electrothermic valves at 230VAC or 3 valves at 24VAC per channel in parallel operation.

Temperature Management Features:
Built-in diagnostics include short circuit detection per channel and 230VAC mains voltage failure monitoring, providing fault status feedback to the KNX bus for maintenance alerts.
The HAE-805 mounts directly on standard 35mm DIN rail, occupying 4 space units (4SU/72mm width). Installation requires connecting the extension to the right side of the MSA-810 master actuator (or another extension module) using the provided side connector. Power is supplied internally from the master, eliminating separate power wiring.
Wiring uses screw terminals accepting conductors up to 2.5mm2 cross-section with 0.5Nm tightening torque. Connect the common phase to the L terminal and wire each thermal actuator to the corresponding channel output terminal. For 24VAC systems, use an appropriate transformer.
In ETS5 or ETS6, select the extension type "Heating Actuator 8-fold" in the MSA-810 application. The master automatically detects connected extensions during the one-button addressing sequence. Configure each channel's control mode, temperature setpoints, PWM cycle times, and valve protection parameters through the comprehensive ETS parameter interface.
Underfloor Heating Systems: Control zone valves in hydronic underfloor heating manifolds. The PI controller with dedicated underfloor heating profile provides smooth temperature regulation accounting for the thermal mass and slow response characteristics of floor heating.
Radiator Zone Control: Drive thermostatic radiator valve actuators for room-by-room temperature control. PWM mode converts percentage heating demand from room thermostats to proportional valve positioning.
Fan Coil Units: Control hot/cold water valves in fan coil systems for commercial HVAC. Support for both heating and cooling modes enables 2-pipe or 4-pipe system integration.
Chilled Ceiling Systems: Manage cooling valves in radiant ceiling installations where precise proportional control prevents condensation issues.
Heat Pump Integration: Interface with heat pump systems requiring zone valve control, with the PI controller optimizing valve response for efficient heat distribution.
The HAE-805 requires the MSA-810 master actuator to operate and cannot function as a standalone device. Up to 8 extension modules of any type can connect to a single master, enabling systems with up to 72 total channels controlled through one KNX interface.
The extension integrates with the complete Elausys actuator ecosystem including switching extensions (SAE-810, SAE-816, SAE-2410), dimming modules (DAE-225), DALI interface (DBE-64), analog outputs (AAE-410), and LED drivers (LAE-802). This enables comprehensive building automation combining lighting, shutter, and HVAC control through a single KNX device.
Full support for the ElauPro cloud platform enables automated ETS application generation, reducing commissioning time for complex multi-extension configurations.
