The Modbus TCP gateway module AJAX-MBTCP is a bidirectional Modbus TCP gateway for AJAX alarm systems. It enables real-time communication with the alarm system over Ethernet, bridging one of the fastest-growing alarm platforms in Europe with any Modbus TCP master, including building management systems, PLCs, home automation controllers, and SCADA platforms.

It allows integrators to monitor alarm statuses, zone events, and power supply conditions, as well as arm and disarm areas directly from any system that supports the Modbus TCP protocol.

Main Features

  • Control up to 4 areas (arm / partial arm / disarm)
  • 6 status feedbacks per area (alarm, armed, disarmed, fire, panic, intrusion)
  • Up to 96 zone statuses (when armed or for Always Active zones)
  • Battery and AC failure monitoring
  • Connected to the alarm system over Ethernet (local network)
  • Standard Modbus TCP protocol on port 502
  • Up to 2 simultaneous Modbus TCP client connections
  • DIN rail mounted (2 SU)
  • Auxiliary power supply 12–30 VDC

Compatible AJAX Systems

The AJAX-MBTCP Gateway is compatible with AJAX Hub systems that support SIA event transmission over the local network. This includes all AJAX Hub, Hub Plus, and Hub 2 models.

Compatible Modbus TCP Masters

Any device or software that supports Modbus TCP client communication can integrate with the AJAX-MBTCP gateway, including:

  • Loxone Miniserver (as a Modbus TCP client)
  • Control4 (via Modbus TCP driver)
  • Homey (via Modbus TCP community app)
  • Node-RED (via Modbus TCP nodes)
  • Siemens, Beckhoff, Wago, Schneider PLCs
  • Any BMS or SCADA system with Modbus TCP support

Frequently Asked Questions

How many areas and detectors can the gateway handle?

The gateway supports up to four areas and 96 zone or detector statuses per gateway.

Do alarm events and control commands use the same connection?

Alarm events arrive through SIA over the local Ethernet network. Arm/disarm commands require internet access and use the AJAX cloud.
