Follow these steps in order. Keep the alarm panel configuration and the ETS project available during commissioning.

Prepare the installation

Jablotron 100 alarm panel, JA-121T RS485 module, external 12 VDC supply and KNX bus. Have the matching ETS application and a valid alarm user code ready.

Connect and power the gateway

Connect the KNX bus and supply 12 VDC to the JA-121T output and the JA-KNX gateway. Connect RS485 D+(A) and D-(B) as shown in Hardware and compatibility. The RS485 termination resistor is integrated.

Configure the alarm interface

Keep the JA-121T to 9600 baud (default). Exit the alarm system service mode; RS485 and KNX communication are disabled while a user is logged in service mode. See Alarm system setup.

Configure the KNX device in ETS

Assign an unused physical address. Enter the valid user code and its length; enable only supported functions. Select zone count and offset, area count, area mapping and scene numbers. See ETS commissioning and ETS parameter reference.

Assign a group address to each required object. Press the programming button to enter KNX programming mode and perform a full download for first commissioning. See ETS commissioning.

Validate status and control

In ETS Group Monitor, read Module status (0 for normal operation) and Firmware. Compare enabled zone and area statuses with the panel; check configured control commands and scenes. See Group addresses and validation.

Commissioning is complete when

The alarm-system connection operates, the firmware can be read on KNX and the configured status, control and scene objects respond as expected.
