
Extension module for the Elausys Universal KNX Actuator System adding 8 relay channels of 16 A / 230 VAC. For water heaters, electric radiators, socket circuits and large lighting groups that exceed 10 A, with dual terminals per channel and the master's switching and blind functions. Connects to the MSA-810 master actuator with the side connector and is configured in ETS through the master's application.
The SAE-816 adds 8 relay channels of 16 A / 230 VAC to an MSA-810 master. Water heaters, electric radiators, socket circuits and large lighting groups switch directly — no intermediate contactor. Its channels do not count in the 40-channel limit at 10 A, so it is also the way to keep growing a large system.
Switch 8 heavy loads. 16 A resistive per channel, potential-free contacts, dual terminals per channel so two loads connect without a bridge.
Keep the functions. Switch or blind pair, delays, minimum on/off, staircase, scenes, blocking, hour counters.
Extend past 40 channels. SAE-816 channels sit outside the 10 A channel limit.
The SAE-816 is part of the Elausys Universal KNX Actuator System: one MSA-810 master and up to 8 extensions, clipped together on the DIN rail with the side connector. The master carries the KNX address and the ETS application; every extension channel appears as a group object of the master. Switching, blinds, heating valves, dimming, DALI, LED and analogue outputs share one device, one application and one ElauPro project.
All functions are standard KNX group objects configured in ETS5 / ETS6 — no proprietary app, no cloud dependency at runtime, no subscription. ElauPro generates the ETS application for your extension mix.
Does it work on its own? No. It needs an MSA-810 master.
Can it switch a motor or a capacitive LED load at 16 A? 16 A is the resistive rating. De-rate for inductive and capacitive loads as with any relay actuator, or check the inrush of large LED drivers.
SAE-816 or SAE-810? SAE-816 for loads above 10 A or to go beyond 40 channels at 10 A; SAE-810 otherwise.
Why two terminals per channel? To connect two loads to one output directly, without a bridge.
