A group object (GO) is a device datapoint. A group address (GA) links that object to other devices or a visualisation in the KNX project. Assign a GA only to the objects required by the application.
Suggested commissioning test set
| GO | Object | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Module status | 0 means normal operation; a non-zero value is an error code. |
| 2 | Firmware version | Read the object and record the returned version string. |
| 24 | AC Power | Compare with the inverter’s live AC power. |
| 30 | AC Energy | Compare the accumulated energy counter and units. |
| 40 | Daily Energy Yield | Model 23 only. Check the current day’s production. |
| 42 / 43 | Battery power / SOC | Enable Battery 1. Full battery power requires model 23. |
| 55 | Powermeter | Enable Powermeter and confirm an installed metering source. Model 23 only. |
Check the signs before using power values
| Object | Positive | Negative |
|---|---|---|
| GO 42 Battery 1 power | Battery charging | Battery discharging |
| GO 55 Powermeter | Grid import | Grid export |
Battery 1 Running Status (GO 41): 0 = Off, 6 = Discharging, 7 = Charging, 8 = Float charge. Compare the state with the observed operating condition.
Unavailable objects
The generic application includes objects that SMA does not supply. Objects explicitly marked Not used in Section 8 remain unavailable with either profile. Do not base automation on those objects. Model 23 only means that model 1 does not provide that value.
Interpretation and diagnostics
A zero value can be valid, such as no PV production at night or no grid exchange. Check the operating state and meter availability before treating zero as a communication fault. The Connected LED confirms inverter communication.
